Dunkin' Donuts Raises $1,094 for Milford Police Dogs

Far exceeding any and all expectations, two Milford Dunkin' Donuts locations sold a combined 1,094 "Paw Print" donuts on August 18 to benefit Milford Police dogs.

Local franchisees D'Andrea Group with stores at 275 Boston Post Road and 367 Bridgeport Avenue, solicited the help of guests to make this fundraiser happen.

"We asked our guest to purchase "Paw Print" donuts and we donated 100 percent of the proceeds," said franchisee Francesco D'Andrea. "We expected to sell, at the most, 500 between two stores. We exceeded that goal by 9 a.m.," he added.

Proceeds from the donuts – $1 each – were collected to benefit the 3 Milford Police K-9s through the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association, which trains local police dogs.

Milford Police Department K-9 unit serves the community by providing tracking and locating services for missing people or criminal suspects. These dogs patrol high crime areas, according to the city’s website, and can search crime scenes for evidence, among many other duties.

D’Andrea Group, a family-owned business, operates 13 Dunkin’ Donuts along the Connecticut shoreline and proudly employs more than 200 people.
