Eastern Student Madelyn Flader of Milford Earns Recognition

Eastern Student Madelyn Flader of Milford Recognized at National Campus Activities Conference

WILLIMANTIC, CT -- Members of Eastern Connecticut State University's Campus Activity Board (CAB) attended the regional National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) conference in Hartford on November 1. The group participated in the Excellence in Programming competition and was selected for the award.

Among the CAB members who attended the conference was Madelyn Flader '20 of Milford, who majors in Psychology.

CAB selected four of the most creative events hosted on campus as entries for the Excellence in Programming competition. Events ranged from "Bollywood Touch," a themed event meant to educate students about Indian culture, to "Disney Daydream," an event that allowed students to celebrate and interact with Disney characters and watch movies.

The programs were judged on the creativity and originality of marketing efforts, the demonstration of diversity in programming efforts, effective use of resources in programming, program originality and creativity, and how team members overcame adversity in programming.

Eastern's CAB is dedicated to providing an array of opportunities to educate and entertain students of all backgrounds. They strive to unify the campus, instill a sense of school pride, inspire students to become an active part of their community, and make the most of their college experience.

The NACA is a recognized leader in higher education providing knowledge, ideas and resources for campus life. The association provides members with programs and events focused on student and professional leadership development, program planning, concert management, diversity and more.
