Eleanor C. Young, age 100, of Milford, beloved wife of the late John C. Young, entered peaceful rest on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
She was born on November 5, 1924 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Adam and Minnie Morazes Rinko. The Youngs moved to Milford in 1960. Eleanor joined the staff at Milford High School as a cafeteria worker in 1963 and remained there until her retirement serving many children and teachers who loved her very much. Her greatest joy was raising her children, providing a loving family environment and encouraging them to realize their potential. She later became a gram and meme and loved her three boys more than anything in the world. Later she was blessed to “finally” have a granddaughter join our family who she instantly fell in love with, even though she had to share her.
Eleanor was a shinning light. Her personality, kindness and generosity touched everyone she came in contact with.
Eleanor is survived by her devoted children, Bruce Young, Cheryl Podzaline both of Brooklyn, CT and Laurie McNulty (Richard Coakley) of Milford, four loving grandchildren, Michael Podzaline (Erin), David McNulty (Faye), Daniel McNulty (Vy) and Katelyn Donofrio (Steve) and eight cherished great grandchildren, Eleanor and Caroline Podzaline, Jack, Brynn and Clara McNulty, Connor McNulty, Henry and Aurora Donofrio. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who she cherished. In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was predeceased by her infant son, John Crawford Young Jr. and her three brothers, Walter, Elmer and George Rinko.
Services will be held in private. Arrangements have been entrusted with the DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. To share a memory, please go to www.gregoryfdoylefuneralhome.com
