A life-long athlete, Betsy played varsity field hockey, basketball and tennis at Winchester High School in Winchester, Massachusetts. She played doubles tennis well into her 70s and walked many early mornings until she was almost 90. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and was a longtime UConn women’s basketball fan. She also enjoyed theorem painting and stenciling and took many art classes where she was able to spend time with dear friends.

Betsy was a member of the Orange Congregational church for over 60 years. She was active at the church on a variety of boards, committees and volunteer groups. She and Bill happily opened their home for many years as part of the holiday progressive dinners the church would organize. Not only involved in church activities, Betsy spent many years working on the Orange Country Fair in the baked goods department. She later helped create a reference booklet of important phone numbers and people who could help senior citizens in Orange. She enjoyed group fitness classes and lectures
sponsored by the town of Orange as well. Betsy had many friends and was always happy to lend an ear or help with a problem, share a success or support someone in a time of difficulty. These were just some of the qualities that made everyone who knew her, love her.
