Elmer G. Rowe, 90, of Milford, CT, beloved husband of Susan MacDonald Rowe passed away on March 22, 2026. Born on March 29, 1935 in Nanticoke, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Marion (Shukait) Rowe.
Elmer will be remembered as a proud Marine whose strength of character and quiet dedication carried through every part of his life. He found joy in the simple things that brought people together—whether it was talking endlessly about his love of golf, spending time at the bowling alley as a devoted member of the Senior Bowling League, or greeting familiar faces at the Woodruff YMCA, which he considered his second home. There, he swam daily, building not only his health but lasting friendships. Elmer had a gift for connection; he was warm, sociable, and seemed to conversate with everyone he encountered. One of his greatest joys was bringing smiles to others, especially when he played Santa for nursery children, a role he embraced with genuine delight. His kindness, friendliness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Sue, Elmer is survived by his son, Kevin Rowe, his daughter, Sharon Dougherty, his step-son, Christopher Marchese, his brothers, Donald, Bill (Rose), and Kenneth (Sharon) Rowe, grandchildren, John, Talia, Billy, Michael, and Karlee, his great grandchildren, Patrick, Astella, Davy, Nyxlee, Jackson, and Ryder; and several nieces and nephews. Elmer was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Stella Rowe, daughter, Kimberly Mohr; brothers, Ernest and John; and his sister, Evelyn Sirak.
