Enid Bradbury Heyse, 101, passed into heaven on May 8, 2025.

Enid's life was a blessing to every person she touched.

Enid Bradbury Heyse, 101, of Milford, beloved spouse of the late Cornelius D. Heyse, Jr., passed into heaven on May 8, 2025. Born on November 21, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Burke and Velma (Badger) Bradbury.

Enid received her RN degree from Bridgeport Hospital and served in the Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII. Later she volunteered for 35 years with the Milford Red Cross Blood Bank. Enid’s life was spent serving her family, her church, her neighbors, and her community. She found great joy for 15 years reading to preschool children through the Milford Literacy Center. She led Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts , she hosted 3 foreign exchange students in her home while raising 8 children of her own , she sang in both her church choir and in the city-wide choir , she led Bible studies , she visited in nursing homes and hospitals, organized and prepared food boxes for needy families, and welcomed new neighbors with a home cooked meal. Enid’s life was a blessing to every person she touched. When asked her secret to such a long, vibrant life, Enid always accredited it to her “strong faith in Jesus Christ and healthy eating!”

A dear friend once said of Enid, “ She has always been a servant of the world…she never wavers in her faith and her belief in people…her love of the Lord is an inspiration to others…she does not look for glory…her focus is always the other person…her service is to all she knows in the community who need help…her help is not just physical - she is there to offer a shoulder to anyone with troubles.”
