Comhaltas - Irish Music with Jerry O'Sullivan

Join accordion maestro John Whelan and uilleann piper Jerry O’Sullivan for an evening of traditional Irish music at St. Gabriel’s Parish Hall on Thursday, May 17, sponsored by the P.V. O’Donnell Comhaltas.  The session, which is free, starts at 7:45 pm and all are welcome to attend.  BYOB, refreshments served. 

Jerry O'Sullivan is a master of the Irish bagpipe and has been widely hailed as America's premier uilleann piper.  He has appeared on more than 90 albums and has performed or recorded with artists such as The Boston Pops, Don Henley, Paul Winter, James Galway, Dolly Parton, The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, The Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Eileen Ivers, and many others. He was a featured soloist on Paul Winter's GRAMMY winning album, Celtic Solstice (Living Music, 1999).  Jerry has also recorded a number of film soundtracks including From Shore to Shore, The Long Journey Home, Far and Away, Africans in America, and Out of Ireland, and has appeared on numerous television commercials.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann was founded in 1951 in Ireland to promote Irish traditional music, song, dance and language.  Today there are 415 branches worldwide and up to two million people attend Comhaltas functions each year.
