Fred Lisman Holiday Concert

The 21st annual Frederick Lisman Memorial Holiday Concert.

The late Mayor Lisman helped to found this concert and continued to be a strong supporter for the musical program in the City Hall auditorium.

The concert is free to the public. A free-will offering will be accepted by those who wish to give one. It is a lovely interlude of classical and holiday music in the busy month of December.

Tenor, Gary Harger returns this year. He has sung with numerous opera companies around the United States and in Europe has appeared as a soloist with the Wexford Festival in Ireland and the Holland Festival in the Netherlands as well as singing the title role in Candide in Rome. He made his Carnegie Hall debut as tenor soloist in Schubert's mass in G. Numerous operetta and show performances include, The Pirates of Penzance, Die Fledermaus, Showboat, My Fair Lady and Guys and Dolls. Mr. Harger also teaches voice and has served on the faculty of the Hartt School and SCSU.

Also appearing this year is the String Trio from Yale University.  They perform not only standard classical repertoire, but also original compositions or arrangements of diverse musical styles. They participate in the "Music in Schools" program at Yale. All the members of Forza are outstanding artists who have performed around the world as soloists and recitalists.

Also appearing will be Lauralton Hall's Advanced Vocal Ensemble (AVE).

A sing-along will end what is a wonderful 2 hours of classical and holiday music by some of the best musicians in our area. We are fortunate to have them perform for us here in Milford.
