The Magic of Words

 WRITERS UNLIMITED PUBLISHING PARTY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

 A lively and entertaining evening is promised at Writers Unlimited’s Publishing Party on Wednesday, June 8^th at 7:00 p.m. at the Milford Senior Center.

    Writers Unlimited meets bi-weekly to share, encourage and critique each other’s written pieces. Topics assigned by the instructor are wide-ranging, requiring the writers to search their senses of humor, their souls and their creative skills.  Each member of the group has chosen his or her own pieces published in this year’s book, The Magic of Words.

     Class members have chosen to dedicate the book to long-time member Carol Ruggiero. Carol says she was, “Looking for a challenging and fun past time, [when she] joined a Writers Unlimited meeting at the Milford Senior Center.”  That was eleven years ago.  Since, she has been published in several national magazines and local newspapers.  This lead to judging a high school writing contest and winning a writing contest in New Haven.

    "My instructor’s clever assignments inspire my writing,” she says. Most of all, she listens and learns from her talented classmates.

    Of her colleagues’ decision to dedicate the book to her. Carol says, "It doesn't get any better than that!"

     Starting at 7:00 p.m., each member of the class will read pieces selected especially for the event. The reading selections do not appear in the book. Audience members will receive a copy of The Magic of Words as a gift from the members of Writers Unlimited..

    Membership to Writers Unlimited is open to Milford residents, age 55 and over. Aspiring writers, with or without experience, are invited to join by calling Mary Steinmetz at the Senior Center at 203-877-5131
