Former Milford Cop Jason Anderson Trying to Stay Out of Prison

Anderson, who was sentenced to 5 years in prison for his role in the death of two Orange teens, is trying to overturn his conviction.

In 2012 a jury sentenced former Milford police officer Jason Anderson to five years in prison for his role in the deaths of Orange residents, Ashlie Krakowski, and David Servin, both 19.

Almost three years later, Anderson remains free on $50,000 bond, and now the ex-cop is trying to have his prison sentence tossed out, reports New Haven Register courts reporter Michelle Tuccitto Sullo.

On Thursday, Anderson’s attorneys argued before the State Appellate Court that the fact Servin’s blood alcohol content was 0.14, or seven times the legal limit for someone under the age of 21, and the fact Servin didn’t stop for a blinking red lights are reasons to overturn Anderson’s conviction.

Anderson’s attorneys are seeking to have his conviction either vacated or to have a new trial.

At the time of the accident, Anderson, who was not responding to an emergency call, was travelling Route 1 in Orange on his way back to Milford in excess of 90 miles per hour.
