Former Prominent Shop's Property Back On The Market In Milford

The property of a beloved local business that closed is for sale again in Milford, according to a real estate listing.

MILFORD, CT — The former home of the Sundae House, a Milford staple for six decades, is back on the market.

The site at 499 New Haven Ave. in Milford is listed for $799,000, according to Crexi.com.

Previously, the plot was sold in 2024 for $388,000.

The property is described as a "prominent freestanding commercial site on approximately 0.55 acres with dedicated parking, strong frontage, and outstanding visibility within a well-traveled coastal corridor."

A real estate agent for the seller did not return a request for comment.

In 2023, Sundae House celebrated 60 years of serving Milford. The Sundae House served both traditional and soft serve styles of ice cream.

Though the business had its ups and downs over the years, the owners previously said COVID wasn't one of them and called it "a great year for us."

Cookie39 set up shop in a trailer at the site last summer. However, Cookie39's location in New Haven closed in December. The Milford shop is listed as "temporarily closed" on Google.
