Free Flu Clinic In Milford On Saturday, Feb. 10
The flu has resulted in the death of more than 60 residents in Connecticut this year.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Health Department has provided seasonal influenza vaccinations, “flu shots”, to residents on a monthly basis since October. However, in light of the widespread influenza activity throughout the state of Connecticut and the increase in deaths related to the flu, the Milford Health Department will be participating in the Statewide Flu Vaccination Day on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 10:00Am-1:00PM.
The clinic will be held at the Milford Health Department located at 82 New Haven Avenue in Milford. Seasonal flu shots will be provided free of charge during this clinic to individuals age 3 and older.
“Even though we are already well into the flu season, it is not too late to get your flu shot as there are still several weeks left to this season, “ said Deepa Joseph, Director of Health for the city of Milford.

Flu activity continues to increase in CT and there are many more weeks ahead of us. It is not too late to get vaccinated. All individuals age 6 months or older are advised to get a flu vaccination to protect them from developing the flu.
The Milford Health Department will also offer Fluzone High Dose for individuals 65 years of age at this clinic. The cost of the high-dose flu shot is $20.50, payable by cash or check. Parking for the flu clinic will be available at the Health Department with overflow parking available at the Milford Elks Lodge, 124 New Haven Avenue, or near Fowler Field behind the Milford Public Library.

The Milford Health Department also encourages residents to practice good respiratory etiquette to prevent and reduce the spread of flu this season. Precautions such as staying at home when you’re sick, covering your mouth and nose when you cough and sneeze, using and properly disposing of tissues, and washing your hands are important measures to help reduce the spread of serious respiratory illnesses.
