​Gary Wayne Kay, 72 of Milford, passed away on December 31, 2024.

A lifelong resident of Milford, Gary cherished his walks along the Silver Sands Boardwalk with his beloved wife Sandy.

Gary Wayne Kay, 72, of Milford, passed away on December 31, 2024. Gary was born on March 8, 1952, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late John and Rachel Kay. Beloved husband to Sandra Hennessey Kay for 30 years and married for 10 years.

Gary dedicated over 40 years to CT Air Gas, formerly CT Oxygen, where he rose to become one of their top salesmen. His remarkable achievements earned him the honor of ringing the bell on Wall Street, a testament to his dedication and charismatic personality. A lifelong resident of Milford, Gary cherished his walks along the Silver Sands Boardwalk with his beloved wife Sandy, hand in hand, marveling at the sunsets over the beach. Sandy, a former travel agent, meticulously planned their adventures, including trips to the Caribbean and frequent visits to Florida, which became their cherished "second home." The couple met at the Creative Health and Fitness gym in Milford bonding over their mutual love for exercise, biking, and swimming.

Gary took great pride in maintaining his home and landscaping, finding joy and satisfaction in creating a welcoming and beautiful environment for his family. His warm heart and selfless nature touched everyone he knew, always prioritizing others and giving freely without expectation. His deep love for his sons and unwavering partnership with Sandy defined his life, making every moment with them truly special.

In addition to his beloved wife, Sandy, Gary is survived by his two sons: Robert Kay (Gayla) of AZ and William Kay of CT. Three siblings: Sally Kay Maglione (Frank), John Douglas Kay (Annie), and James Kay. Nieces and Nephews: Brett Kay, Frank Maglione, Steven Maglione fiancé (Alyssa), great niece Vaida, and great nephew Cayden. Mother-in-law Peggy Hennessey and Brother in-law Scott Hennessey (Sandee) and 2 nieces Jackie Hennessey and Rachel Drommer (Matt). Predeceased by father-in-law Daniel Hennessey. Beloved dog “Bean” welcomed Gary into Heaven with a wagging tail.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford from 3pm to 7 pm. A Prayer Service is to begin at 6 p.m.
