Gaye Cybart, 87, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025

Gaye was a devoted mother and grandmother, known for her warmth, kindness, and strength.

Gaye Cybart, 87, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Gaye Linda Maggie on August 2, 1937, in West Haven, CT, Gaye was a graduate of West Haven High School (Class of 1955). Soon after, she met her beloved husband, Joseph “Dick” Cybart, with whom she shared nearly 66 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they purchased their first home in Ansonia, CT where they started their family. Later, they went on to spend the majority of their lives living in Orange, CT.

Gaye was a devoted mother and grandmother, known for her warmth, kindness, and strength. She lived a full and vibrant life— from model and American Airlines stewardess to travel agent, travel instructor, real estate agent, and later cancer survivor. Gaye’s beauty and engaging demeanor opened many doors including a winning appearance on the 1960’s national game show, Concentration. She was a lifelong animal lover, a voracious reader, and a woman of elegance, grace, and curiosity.
Gaye’s greatest passion was travel. She and Joe shared hundreds of adventures, from Caribbean getaways to a remarkable trip to Egypt decades ago. Their love of exploration created a lifetime of memories — many of them also made at the family beach house on the Jersey Shore.

Gaye’s beauty, wit, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Hayden (Steven) and Suzanne Besaw Doyle (Stephen); grandchildren Christine Hilliard (Kevin), Emily Besaw and Alexander Besaw. She also leaves great granddaughters Taylor, and Tessa Hilliard; and her lifelong friend, Gloria Valente.
