Gladys Joan Pinto

1943 - 2024

Gladys Pinto peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 27. Born in Bridgeport 81 years ago, she spent most of her life in Milford. She was the daughter of Carver & Stella Horton. She leaves behind her twin sister Lois DeTullio of Milford, her son Alan Pinto Jr. of Milford, and her daughter Amy Pinto and her partner Lee Nicolas of Milford, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Alan Pinto Sr.

Gladys was intensely devoted to her two children and her husband. Her home was her pride and joy and kept it meticulously clean. She was an expert baker, known for her signature Christmas cookies which were appreciated by many. She loved children and operated a day care in her Live Oaks area home for 8 years. Some of Gladys’ daycare charges kept in touch with her into their teens or even early adulthood.

She had several hobbies through which she expressed her creativity. She loved ceramics, macrame, and crocheting. She even taught herself furniture refinishing. She also loved doing arts and crafts with kids, including Kobe & Zoey, the two most recent additions in her life.
She had a trademark laugh which would brighten any room. She had a keen ability to make friends and visitors feel welcome and understood. She was a deeply compassionate, empathetic, and sensitive person. Gladys would always reassure her children that “everything would turn out OK” whenever crises would occur. Gladys lived a life filled with love, creativity, and laughter.
