Golden Corral Buffet and Grill Opening in Milford, 1st Location in CT
Two job fairs are coming up and up to 200 jobs will be filled, according to the company.

MILFORD, CT — If you've missed HomeTown Buffet, well, here's some good news for you: Golden Corral is set to take its place at 74 Turnpike Square.
Golden Corral, which will be opening its first location in Connecticut, is known for its "endless buffet features," according to its website and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A job fair is upcoming and up to 200 jobs are available, the company announced.

“Any time a new business chooses Milford, we are thrilled. Golden Corral, is a well known established and successful company that will fit in nicely within our community. We wish them much success and prosperity," said Milford's Economic Development Director Julie Nash.
Michael Richetelli, who is president of Colonial Properties, of Orange, said he is pleased to be a part of negotiating the lease for the first Golden Corral restaurant in the state. Lisa Whitney and Jennifer T.W. Yang of Pinpoint Commercial Real Estate, LLC, represented the CT Golden Corral Franchisee and Fred A. Messore of Colonial Properties, Inc. represented the Turnpike Square Plaza.

"We expect this to be a very successful location for the well-known buffet restaurant, as it was formerly occupied by Hometown Buffet and is in a prime location, adjacent to the Milford Crossing Shopping Center and the Connecticut Post Shopping Mall," Richetelli said.
According to its website, "Golden Corral's legendary, endless dinner buffet features an enormous variety with 15 proteins including USDA, grilled to order sirloin steaks, pork, seafood, shrimp, and chicken.
"...The endless lunch buffet features a wide variety of home-style classics like our pot roast simmered for 12-hours, made-from-scratch meatloaf, crispy fried chicken, creamy mac and cheese, made-from-scratch mashed potatoes, beloved Bourbon Street Chicken, so many fresh salad choices and dozens of other items.
"Our endless breakfast buffet features made-to-order omelettes, fluffy pancakes, hot-off-the griddle sausage and bacon, fruit, French toast, pastries and much more. Our bakery and dessert buffet are filled with freshly baked breads, like our famous yeast rolls, homemade cakes and pies, delicious cookies, brownies, pastries, and ice cream."
There will be two job fairs in Milford on Oct. 21 and Oct. 25 at 74 Turnpike Square. The job fairs are both at 10 a.m.
HomeTown Buffet closed for good earlier this year after its parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced 90 store closings across the country. It had been in Milford for more than 25 years.
