MILFORD, CT — The Planning and Zoning Board approved plans for a 1,980 square foot mixed-use building on the Boston Post Road that will house a hair salon.

The small lot at 852 Boston Post Road is located across the road from Mama Theresa’s restaurant. There was previously a house on the property, but it was demolished.

The salon will occupy the first floor and the second floor is a two-bedroom apartment, applicant attorney Thomas Lynch said.

The approval is contingent on being approved by the fire marshal’s office.

Planning and Zoning Board members also approved plans to subdivide a 1.5 acre lot on Zion Hill Road into three lots.

An existing house at 238 Zion Hill Road will remain, Lynch said at the meeting. Lynch also represented the Zion Hill Road applicant.

Two new addresses will be created on Southworth Street.

A dozen trees will be removed, but some of them will be relocated to another portion of the property.
