Hamden Man Accused of Shoplifting, Nearly Running Over Milford Police K-9
Milford police said the suspect almost hit a pedestrian and Milford police K-9 as he attempted to flee the scene.

Milford police say Edward Madden, of First Street in Hamden, is accused of shoplifting three pocketbooks, fled and nearly struck a pedestrian and Police K-9 whole fleeing in his vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Police said on July 19, the department received a complaint regarding a shoplifting that occurred at Marshalls Department store at 1413 Boston Post Road.
Investigation revealed that a suspect left the store without paying for three pocketbooks valued at $750, police said.

The suspect refused to comply with officers in the parking lot and nearly struck a pedestrian and a police K-9 while fleeing in a vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Police identified Madden as a suspect, which resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

He was charged with third-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, interfering with police, reckless driving, and disobeying an officer’s signal. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
