Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Coastal Parts Of Southern CT

COASTAL SECTIONS OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for coastal sections of southern Connecticut.

For towns located along the I-95 corridor from Greenwich to North Stonington, the weather service said, "There is potential for a brief period of freezing rain late tonight into Saturday morning. Be prepared for the potential of slippery travel."

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of freezing rain between 1am and 3am, then a chance of rain or freezing rain. Increasing clouds, with a low around 29. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: Rain, mainly after 7am. High near 47. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
