Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Fairfield/New Haven County

The sun is shining this Saturday afternoon, but that hasn't stopped the National Weather Service from issuing a hazardous weather outlook for Fairfield and New Haven counties.

"There is a chance for isolated flash flooding Monday into Monday night," the weather service said.

It looks like conditions will remain dry until Sunday night, which is when rain showers are forecast.

Monday looks rainy, including the chance of thunderstorms.

The forecast for the entire week looks unsettled with a chance of rain and thunderstorms each day, but sunshine could also appear each day too.

Sunday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 70. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 82. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tuesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
