Southern CT Weather: Chance For Severe Thunderstorms Monday
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for all of southern Connecticut today. Here's what to expect.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — Once again we'll need to keep our eye to the sky this afternoon for the chance of thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for all of southern Connecticut that said, "Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into early evening. Localized damaging wind gusts and flash flooding are the main threats with these storms."
The weather service said southeastern Connecticut may see the worst of the storms. We can expect temperatures rising into the mid-to-upper 80s.

"Any precipitation will come to an end tonight as the front pushes east of the area, resulting in a generally dry day on Tuesday," the weather service said. "A few showers or thunderstorms may develop during the afternoon, primarily across southern Connecticut and the Lower Hudson Valley. Temperatures on Tuesday will be a couple degrees cooler, generally in the mid 80s."
WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons said despite the chance of storms this afternoon we will also see periods of sun too.

"The humidity will be high today but it starts dropping tonight through tomorrow! Mostly dry for Tuesday and Wednesday but there could be a brief thunderstorm rolling through. Cooler through Wednesday into Thursday then the heat is on with showers and storms Friday into the coming weekend," Simmons said on social media.
