The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning for southern Connecticut.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning due to the chance of light snow and a wintry mix.
Neither storm will bring major accumulation to the region but there could be some light snow accumulation on Friday morning and a wintry mix on Christmas morning that could impact travel conditions.

"A quick moving weak low pressure system will bring potential for a light coating of snowfall, less than an inch, tonight into early Friday morning. Another quick moving low pressure system will bring a light wintry mix of mainly sleet and freezing rain Friday night into early Saturday morning, before transitioning to rain. These systems may result in hazardous travel conditions during these time periods."

Friday: Light snow likely, mainly before 7am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming northwest in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday Night: A slight chance of rain, snow, and sleet before 1am, then rain likely, possibly mixed with sleet between 1am and 4am, then rain likely after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation expected.
Christmas Day: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.
Saturday Night: A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.
