Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Southern Connecticut
The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern sections of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London county.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory, a freeze warning and a hazardous weather outlook for the coastal areas of southern Connecticut.
A frost advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Friday, and a freeze warning is in effect from 10 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday.

"WHAT...For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 26 expected.
"WHERE...In Connecticut, Southern Fairfield, Southern New Haven, Southern Middlesex and Southern New London Counties.

"WHEN...For the Frost Advisory, until 9 AM EDT this morning. For the Freeze Warning, from 10 PM this evening to 9 AM EDT Saturday.
"IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing."
"Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold," the weather service said. "To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing."
