Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Southern Connecticut: Here's What To Know

Also, there are new details on when we may see snow again and some news on when temperatures may begin to warm up some.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut on Sunday morning, as windchill readings will be as low as 10 to 15 below zero.

"A strong coastal storm will move on a track well offshore from Southern New England, only clipping the Cape & Islands with accumulating snow. Here in CT, we’ll see passing clouds, a few flurries at times, and an afternoon feel in the single digits and lower teens. Don’t forget to check out the Full Snow Moon that rises again closer to 5pm," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said.

A very brief sort of warm-up begins Monday

There is some good news in the forecast, relatively speaking, as temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees, and we haven't been there in over a week, according to WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, daytime highs might reach 35 degrees.

Next snow chance Friday

"The next system we are monitoring is a clipper system for Friday into Saturday morning for a period of light snow," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said.

The brief warm-up isn't forecast to last long

"The first full weekend of February will mark a return to Arctic cold, with high temperatures at or around 20. We’re also watching for the chance of light snow for the first half of the weekend," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
