Helen Boni Fisher, 96, of Milford, passed away on December 23, 2024.
Helen was a proud "Beach Kid" and she worked at Milford Hospital for over 30 years.

Helen Boni Fisher, 96, of Milford passed away on December 23, 2024. Born on December 31, 1927, in Milford CT, Helen was the daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Tracey) Boni.
Helen graduated from Walnut Beach Grammar School, Milford High School, Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, and Saint Raphael Hospital School of Anesthesia. She was a proud veteran of the United States Nurse Corps. Helen held National certifications in both Emergency Nursing and Med-Surg Nursing. She became Milford Hospital’s first Nurse Anesthetist. During her career at Milford Hospital, she also held positions as a staff nurse, Med-Surg Supervisor, and Head Nurse of the Emergency Room. She retired from Milford Hospital after a combined 30 years of service.
Helen was a former president of the Bridgeport Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and the Milford Hospital Nurses Association. She was a board member and leader of the Milford Hospital Explorers, a Den Mother for her sons Boy Scout Troop, and served on the board of her Condominium Association. Helen also enjoyed traveling in her early retirement years and toured many of the National Parks in the United States.

Growing up, Helen was a proud “Beach Kid”. As a charter member of The Walnut Beach - Myrtle Beach Historical Society she helped to write and publish a book called “Sand in our Shoes”, a narrative and pictorial history of Walnut and Myrtle Beaches. She felt a great source of pride, leaving a part of her legacy behind for her family and the Walnut Beach Community to enjoy.
Throughout her life, Helen was an avid reader, a gardener, and loved staying in touch with her relatives. Her children and grandchildren were a never-ending source of pride and joy. In her later years, Helen shared a strong bond of friendship with several women in her life and loved each of them dearly.

Helen is survived by her children, Gerry (David Kimble) Fisher, Jack Fisher, Judith (Tom) Watson, her three wonderful grandchildren, Rose, Audrey, and Sam; and her niece Diane (Fran) Bonomo. She is predeceased by her brother John Boni, her sister Claire Pileski, and nephew Stephen Pileski.
