Helen Olenski Rice

1923 - 2024

Helen Olenski Rice, 101 years young, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Steven J. Rice Sr., passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024. Helen was born in Bridgeport, CT on September 15, 1923, to the late Chester and Anna Brzozoska Olenski.


Helen has been a long lime resident of Milford where she grew up in the Wheelers Farms area of Milford with 8 siblings and her husband Steve. Helen also had other residences with her husband in California, Arizona, and New Hampshire. Helen dedicated her life of love and sharing her faith in God to her family. Blessed and always grateful. Helen was also a member of the St. Mary’s Guild, managed a plumbing business in Milford, volunteered for Huxley Institute and the Milford Citizen’s Preservation Society.


Helen is predeceased by her son Steven J. Rice, Jr. and survived by his children Allen Rice, wife Krista and 3 children Sydney, Jaxon, and Greyson, Jeffrey and Melinda Rice and their two children Sarah and Emily, her son Wendell J. Rice and fiancé Tracy Kennedy, his children Nicole Rice Redos, her husband Ted Redos and their two children Michael and Mia, Jennifer Rice Kranz, husband Mike, and their three children Jada, River, and Holly, her daughter, Kathleen E. Rice, and her son, Victor J Rice, Sr, his wife Elizabeth Dirgo Rice, and their son Victor J. Rice, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St, Milford CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).
