High Speed Chase On I-95 In Milford Leads to 2 Arrests: Police

The suspects ended up crashing their vehicle and two people tried to make a run for it but were quickly apprehended, State Police said.

MILFORD, CT — Connecticut State Police say they spotted a stolen vehicle on Interstate 95 in Milford speeding at times in excess of 100 mph and two suspects ended up crashing in Bridgeport, and were apprehended after a brief foot chase.

It all began at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday when State Troopers were conducting speed enforcement on I-95 southbound in the area of exit 40, Milford. State Police saw a black Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed and they tried to stop it, but the driver increased the speed and engaged troopers in pursuit, State Police said. Troop G dispatch notified troopers that the Honda was reported stolen out of Ansonia, State Police said.

The Honda continued to traveling south on I-95, at times in excess of 120 mph, before the driver eventually lost control on the Exit 27A off-ramp in Bridgeport and struck the left side barrier, State Police said. Two male occupants fled on foot from the Honda, while two female occupants remained inside the vehicle, State Police sad. Both males jumped over the guardrail and ran down the embankment toward Prospect Street in Bridgeport, State Police said.

Troopers engaged in foot pursuit before one of the males, Quientan Brown, was apprehended by State Police K9 Silver and taken into custody, State Police said. A few minutes later the second male, a juvenile, was located by troopers and Bridgeport police nearby on Prospect Street, and taken into custody, State Police. The female occupants were not charged and were released at the scene, State Police said.

Quientan Brown, 27, of Howard Avenue in Bridgeport, was transported by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital for injuries resulting from the K9 apprehension. Brown was charged with interfering with an officer and was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Milford Superior Court on February 20, 2018.

The juvenile male admitted to driving the Honda, and was transported to Troop G where he was charged third-degree larceny, first-degree reckless endangerment, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, evading responsibility, interfering with an officer, and motor vehicle violations.

The juvenile was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at the Bridgeport Juvenile Court on February 14, 2018.
