Home Improvement Worker Charged With Burglarizing Milford House

Milford police say the Shelton resident is accused of stealing more than $1,100 worth of merchandize.

Milford police say a Shelton man has been charged with allegedly burglarizing a Milford house and allegedly taking $1,100 worth of merchandise.

Police say Jerome Downing, 38, of Center Street in Shelton, is accused of burglarizing a Knobb Hill Road house on March 13. Investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Downing who is accused of entering the house and taking home electronics and tools valued at $1,100.

Downing had been at the home in the past performing home improvement services, police said. He is charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.

He was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court, Milford on July 28. .
