Hospital to Host Program on Wound Care

Milford Hospital will present the next in their "Dinner with the Doctor" series on Tuesday, June 7th.

Over six million Americans suffer from wounds that don't heal naturally and may be complicated by poor circulation, diabetes or other medical conditions.   Chronic and non-healing wounds can decrease an individual's quality of life by causing pain, discomfort, decreased mobility and limited social interaction.     Monday, June 6th through Friday, June th is designated "Wound Care Awareness Week,"  a time dedicated toward raising awareness of advanced wound care and it's benefits to every patient living with chronic, non-healing wounds.

On Tuesday, June 7th Milford Hospital will present the next in their series of Dinner with the Doctor programs.   The session on Wound Care will be led by Dr. A. Joel Papowitz, a specialist in treating wounds.  Dr. Papowitz will be accompanied by Christina Newton, Program Director of the Advanced Wound Care Center at Milford Hospital.  The duo will lead a presentation on basic wound care, knowing when to seek advanced care and the type of care wound centers offer including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

The program starts at 6:00pm at the Hospital.   A light healthy supper will be served.   There is no charge for the program, but seating is limited and reservations are required.   Please call (203) 876-4004 to register.
