Info Released On Propane Collection Day In Milford

The fire department will host the event next month.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Fire Department will host Propane Collection Day on May 16 for Milford residents.

The event is an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted propane cylinders at no cost.

Propane Collection Day will be from 8 a.m. to noon at 55 Seeman's Lane, across from Meadowside School.

Accepted items include 20 lb. propane tanks and 1 lb. propane cylinders.

Those attending should bring proof of Milford residency.

Fire officials provided the following safety guidelines:

• Keep tanks upright and secured
• Keep valves closed
• Do NOT vent tanks before transport
• Travel with vehicle windows open
• No smoking during transport or drop-off
