
John “Jack” Olexovitch, of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at Connecticut Hospice, surrounded by the care and compassion of those who made his final days comfortable. Born on November 5, 1941, Jack was the beloved son of the late George and Helen Olexovitch. Jack proudly served in the US Air Force. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in his career, spending many years operating heavy equipment at Barrett Construction. He also worked at Sturm Ruger before retiring. Retirement gave Jack the opportunity to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Every winter, he and his beloved wife, Carol, looked forward to driving to Florida together, creating cherished memories along the way. Jack loved spending time on the golf course and was a gifted athlete throughout his life. Above all else, however, his greatest joy was his family. He treasured every moment spent with them, and they always came first. Jack was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Carol, as well as his brothers, George and Keith. He leaves behind his 2 brothers Paul and Mark ( Patty) many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews His loving children, Jack and his fiancée, Tricia; Scott and his wife, Susanne; and Beth Acevedo and her husband, Javier. He was a proud grandfather to Jack and his wife, Chelsea, Joseph, and Jason, and a devoted great-grandfather to Brooke and Emmy. He also leaves behind Deborah Maloney, his former daughter-in-law, who remained like a daughter to him and held a special place in his heart. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, as well as Dr. Chhabra and the Oncology and Hematology team, for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they provided to Jack throughout his illness. Jack will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, his easygoing spirit, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at the GREGORY DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Interment with Military Honors will follow at King's Highway Cemetery, Milford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 1st, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
