James "Jim" McMellon
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed boating and fishing and was an avid hunter.

James L. "Jim" McMellon, age 91, beloved husband of 69 years to Mary Ellen (Marshall) McMellon of Milford, CT, entered into peaceful rest on January 18, 2026.
He was born on September 5, 1934, in Ansonia, CT, and was the son of the late Charles and Rose (Leonard) McMellon. Jim learned the electrician trade while participating in and later operating the family business, West Shore Electric. He also served in the United States Army, earning an honorable discharge.
In 1968, Jim joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 488. He began his union career as an electrician with New England Electric in Bridgeport, CT, where his career progressed from Foreman to Project Manager, ultimately finishing as Vice President. He later served as General Manager for Meyers Electric in Stratford, CT. Prior to retiring, Jim worked for Johnson Electric at the Milford Power Plant.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed boating and fishing and was an avid hunter. He and Mary also took great pride in building and maintaining their family residence.

In addition to his loving wife, Jim leaves behind his devoted children: his son, Charles “Chas” McMellon (Retired Local Union 488) of Milford, CT; two adored grandchildren, Heather, and Michele McMellon; and a cherished great-grandson, Luka Jaser. He also leaves his daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Reeves, and her husband, Kevin, who currently resides in South Reading, VT. Jim is also survived by his brother, Charles “Chuck” McMellon (Retired Local Union 488), and his wife, Barbara, of Milford, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his sister, Rose Mahieu; his brother, John McMellon; and his daughter-in-law, Donna McMellon.
Family and Friends may call on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the GREGORY DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. CT. Interment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted with the GREGORY DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. CT.
