Obituary: Jan F. Baldwin, age 77, of Milford

Jan F. Baldwin, age 77, of Milford, beloved wife of the former Mayor of Milford, Joel Baldwin, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Jan was born in Natick, MA on January 11, 1947 and moved to Orange where she graduated from Amity High School. She went on to graduate from Northern Arizona University and married Joel in 1978. Jan was a musician and an artist. She was an organist and choir director for several churches in the area and started the Milford Senior Gospel Choir. In her 40th year, she learned to play the harp and performed several concerts and produced her own CD. In her 60’s, Jan started weaving and making tapestries that were sold locally. Survivors, in addition to her husband Joel, include her cousin, Carol Sewell and her nieces and nephews, Peter C. Brockett, Jr. (Mona) of East Haven, Polly B. Flanagan (Brian) of Tewksbury, MA, Roger B. Brockett of Milford, Carol B. LaBrake of Milford and Priscilla B. Wells (Timothy) of Mystic. Friends and family may call on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
