Jedidiah John Mohring, age 50, of Milford, passed away on January 7, 2025 after bravely battling heart disease.

Jed was born on April 11, 1974 in San Francisco, California, son of Manfred and Mary-Ellen (Chonko) Mohring. After his parents moved to Milford in 1980 to be closer to family, he attended St. Gabriel Elementary School and Jonathan Law High School.

After graduating from Southern Connecticut State University with honors, Jed earned two Master's Degrees in Philosophy- from Boston College and Marquette University where he was a PhD candidate, ABD. As part of Jed's education, he studied at the University of Tubingen in Germany. Jed was an adjunct professor of Philosophy at Southern Connecticut State University for many years. His passion for philosophy and innate relatability made him popular and respected by students and peers.
Prior to teaching, Jed walked many roads- he was manager of a Taco Bell and a pet store, he was a soldier in the United States Army, a United States postal worker, a Catholic seminarian, a real estate transaction manager, a mortgage processor and also worked in home renovation. Because of his vast experiences with interesting people from all over, Jed was empathetic and appreciative of others. Jed generally got along well with everyone. Casual conversations and deep meaningful ones came naturally to him. A constant in his life was his involvement with the Friends of Bill.
Jed was a voracious reader and loved music and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to his devoted parents, Jed leaves his beloved siblings, Brennan Mohring and Megan Green, her husband Jeff, and their children- his cherished nephew and niece, Kai and Annalise Green. Also missing him will be his large extended family that loves him very much and a diverse group of friends.
