Her passing will leave this world with an enormous void of humor, laughter, kindness, and sunshine.

Karen Ann Cordner, 74, entered into rest on January 23, 2026. Karen was born in Milford, CT on April 25th, 1951. She will always be remembered for being the most incredible mother and grandmother, her quick wit, and strong work ethic.
She was a proud graduate of Jonathan Law High School in 1969. She was a lifelong learner through her love of reading and research. Karen worked hard throughout her entire life. She was a dedicated employee of Bunker Ramo and Laboratory Medicine. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she became a switchboard operator at Griffin Hospital in Derby.
However, her true passion was working with the students of Derby Public Schools as a proud paraprofessional for over 15 years until she retired in 2019. She was a strong advocate for teachers and students throughout her life.

Karen always dreamed of becoming a grandmother. She was overjoyed to welcome her sweet grandson, AJ, into the world in 2023. Nothing stopped Karen from showing him her deep and unconditional love. She cherished every minute with him.
She enjoyed beautiful sunsets, reading the New York Times and several other newspapers cover to cover, discussing her very strong political views, seeing Broadway shows, cheering for UCONN women’s basketball, exploring the beaches of Cape Cod, and especially bragging about her children.
Her passing will leave this world with an enormous void of humor, laughter, kindness, and sunshine. Her family will miss her every day.
