Kathleen E. Cody, of Milford, wife of Michael Cody, passed away surrounded by her family on July 11, 2026

During the 2020 Covid crisis, despite multiple years away from bed-side nursing, Kathleen volunteered to return to St. Vincent's ICU

Kathleen Elizabeth Cody, 53, of Milford, CT, beloved wife of Michael Cody, passed away surrounded by her family on July 11, 2026. Born on July 24, 1972 in York, PA, she was the daughter of Dianna (Hoke) Falvey, and the late Dennis J. Falvey.

Kathleen graduated from York Catholic High School in 1990, followed by a bachelor’s degree in political science from York College.

In 1997, while vacationing with her family in Topsail Island, NC, one of her favorite places throughout her life, Kathleen was introduced to Michael, a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune. They met on a blind date at the Marine Corps Birthday Ball arranged by a mutual friend. The two went on to marry in 2000 and began a family with the arrival of Patrick in 2001 and Margaret in 2003.In 2004, Kathleen and family moved to Michael’s hometown of Milford, where she made many deep friendships and raised her family over the next two decades.

In 2009, Kathleen went back to school at St. Vincent’s College in Bridgeport, CT, to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and would go on to serve as an Intensive Care Unit nurse at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Kathleen also served in nursing administrative positions focused on quality improvement for patient outcomes at both St. Vincent’s and Yale-New Haven Hospital. During the 2020 Covid crisis, despite multiple years away from bed-side nursing, Kathleen volunteered to return to St. Vincent’s ICU to assist her nursing colleagues in caring for patients throughout this critical time.

Kathleen loved spending time with her family and friends, sitting at a bar and having dinner with her husband, afternoons at Bayview or Gulf Beach in the summer, trips to Topsail to enjoy the ocean, consistently developing and enhancing her wardrobe, or a simple quiet night at home.

Other than her loving husband of 26 years, Kathleen is survived by her children, Patrick and Margaret Cody, and labrador retriever Fife; her mother, Dianna Falvey; her siblings, Matthew Falvey, Sarah Falvey, and Emily (Jeremy) Falvey-Smith; her mother and father in law, Kevin and Chrystine Cody; her nieces and nephews, Taylor (Ian) Zager, Amanda (Max) Haldeman and her grandniece, Denni, Seth (Sophie) Falvey, and Jeren Smith. Kathleen is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery on Buckingham Avenue, Milford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Connecticut Hospice, or St Vincent’s Medical Center Swim Across the Sound Marathon
