Obituary: Kenneth J. Thomas, Sr., 69, Formerly Of Milford

Ken loved his community and was involved with the Milford Elks for many years.

Kenneth Joseph Thomas of Washington Depot, formerly of Milford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 18, 2025 at New Milford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Debbie Thomas.
Ken was born July 22, 1955 in Bridgeport to the late Vincent and Betty Thomas. He worked at the Milford Housing Authority for more than 25 years before his retirement. Ken loved his community and was involved with the Milford Elks for many years, serving twice as Exalted Ruler, cooking brunches and dinners, cooking and serving at the Milford Oysterfest, and helping with service projects at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ken loved camping and fishing with his family and friends, and enjoyed bowling. It gave him great joy to be a coach and scout leader for his sons throughout their childhoods.
Ken will be sadly missed by his sons: Kenneth Thomas, Jr. of New Milford, and Brian Thomas and his wife Kate of Milford; his beloved grandchildren: Kenneth Thomas III, Amber, Nathaniel, Abigail, Alexis, and Jack; his great-grandson, Oliver; his sister: Rose Thomas; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Ken is predeceased by his brothers and sister, Vincent, John, and Sally Thomas, and his cherished niece, Sharon Thomas.
Visitation will be at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1-4 p.m.with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery at a later date.
