Obituaries

Larry Kochiss, 65, of Milford, passed away on May 22, 2025

Whether with a quick joke, a kind word, or simply his presence, he lit up every room and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Larry Kochiss, 65, of Milford, beloved husband of Kathy (Curley) Kochiss, passed away on May 22, 2025. Born on October 7, 1959, he was the son of the late Louis and Margaret “Hope” (O’Connor) Kochiss.

Larry and Kathy owned the redwood restaurant for 20 years along with his pre-deceased father in law, Ronald Curley and mother in law, Alice Curley whom he loved and respected deeply. The Redwood was a staple of the Milford community where Larry turned a restaurant into a home for all. Larry worked as manager and salesman for 19 years at Brescome Barton. He was a mentor, advocate and true leader within the industry leaving an impact on everyone he encountered.

Whether you knew him as Larry, Big Lar, Mr. Worldwide or Biggie, he never missed an opportunity to enjoy life. He had a gift for making others feel welcome and seen. Whether with a quick joke, a kind word, or simply his presence, he lit up every room and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His greatest joys included spending time with his family and friends, traveling the world with his favorite redhead, Sundays at the seawall, and relaxing with a cold Makers after hitting the links.
