Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Milford.

MILFORD, CT — The number of confirmed new coronavirus cases in Milford is currently at 369, according to the latest numbers from the state Department of Public Health. Milford officials have said seven residents have died as a result of complications from the new coronavirus, as reported by Hearst Connecticut.

Mayor Ben Blake announced the return of extended hours at the Transfer Station beginning April 11 and running through mid-December. The extended hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Regular weekday hours will remain the same (7 a.m. – 3 p.m.).

Blake has announced that the City of Milford will allow a 90-day, interest free, deferment of taxes for individuals and businesses that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This program was approved by the Milford Board of Aldermen during the April 2020 Special Meeting.

The tax deferral program will apply to real estate, motor vehicle, and sewer charges or assessments which would otherwise be due between and including March 10, 2020 and July 1, 2020 and allows for a 90-day deferral without interest or penalty.
