Obituaries

Leo Chasse, 70, of Milford, passed away on November 19, 2024.

He loved spending time with his family with his greatest accomplishments being his two daughters and granddaughters.

Leo P. Chasse, 70, of Milford, beloved husband of Nancy Chasse, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on November 19, 2024, surrounded by family. Born on April 24, 1954, in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Gabrielle and Joseph Leopold Chasse.

Leo was known for his kind, gentle spirit and dedication to helping others. Leo was an avid blood donor to the American Red Cross. He loved spending time with his family with his greatest accomplishments being his two daughters and granddaughters. He spent many years in the banking industry and made many friends along the way. Leo enjoyed being outside in his garden, planting flowers or just sitting in the sun. He was very artistic and made numerous crafts out of flower pots, with his specialty being lighthouses and often gave them to family and friends. He was always lending a hand to his two son-in-laws with any household project they had. But above all else his favorite thing was playing with his granddaughters.
Along with his wife, Leo is survived by his children, Cheryl (Bernie) Chasse Young and Tracy (Joey) Tassitano; cherished granddaughters, Brooke and Peyton Tassitano; siblings, Paula Hubbell, Louis (Arlene) Chasse, Maurice (Yettika) Chasse, and Linda (Mark) Chmura; sister-in-law, Raisa Liljeros as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerard Chasse; nephew, Tyler Chasse; brother-in-law, David Hubbell and in-laws, Irene and Lawrence Albera. He will also be greatly missed by his two granddogs Trooper and Trigger.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff at VITAS Healthcare and Visiting Angels for the compassionate care given to Leo. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, 168-176 S Broad St, Milford, CT 06460(MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Glioblastoma Research Organization.
