My name is Attorney Carmina K. Hirsch. I reside in Milford, Connecticut. I submit this letter in support of Bryan Anderson for State Representative for my district.

As a small business owner Bryan knows what it means to manage payroll and overhead costs, pay healthcare and other benefits, and supervise employees. Being a small business owner myself, Bryan’s vast experience in this area and understanding of small business needs is compelling.

Bryan is also a retired educator, which means he knows first-hand the issues and needs that children, parents, and other members of our community are facing, particularly during the global health crisis caused by COVID-19. As my husband and I look to expand our family, it is comforting to know a former educator will be serving our best interests in Hartford.

On the other hand, Bryan’s opponent, Republican Kathy Kennedy, is a partisan indistinguishable from her caucus, voting 95% in line with her peers:

- Kennedy voted AGAINST common sense climate change legislation;
- Kennedy voted AGAINST paid family and medical leave, a cause which was personal to me and for which I campaigned for and testified in favor of;
- Kennedy voted FOR a bond package that cut funds to Orange;
- Kennedy voted to bind the hands of the Secretary of State trying to safely expand voting by mail.
As a public school teacher of fifteen years, former realtor, former Milford Alderman, and small business owner, Bryan will serve the best interests of Milford and Orange residents:
- Bryan will advocate for local education dollars;
- Bryan will fight for our fair share of bond funds;
- Bryan will work and vote to expand no excuse voting, implement early voting, and permit voting by mail;
- Bryan will work for an expanded Bottle Bill, climate change legislation, open space, and farmland preservation.

Being self-employed also means Bryan has the flexibility to serve his constituents well and be available to debate and vote on important legislation, as opposed to his opponent who works full time for the City of Milford.

We need compassionate and independent leadership for Milford and Orange representing us at the General Assembly. My vote is for Bryan Anderson and I hope yours is too.

Very truly yours,

Carmina K. Hirsch
