Lori Zimmerman, 61, of Milford, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26th, 2026.

Lori Zimmerman, 61, of Milford, CT, beloved wife of Hank Zimmerman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26th, 2026. Lori was born on October 24th,1964 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Daniel and Judith (Powers) Fitzmaurice.

Lori dedicated her working life to helping others through her work in Developmental Services for the State of Connecticut, where she worked in a group home supporting individuals with special needs. Caring for others came naturally to Lori, and she formed lasting connections with both the individuals she supported and the people she worked alongside throughout her career.

Above all else, Lori’s greatest joy was her family. She was the heart and glue that held everyone together — a devoted wife, loving mother, proud Gramma, and loyal friend. She shared many special memories traveling with her husband, Hank, to New Hampshire, a place that became her happy place and somewhere she truly loved being. Lori also enjoyed trips to the beach, Dunkin’ runs, spending time with their beloved dog, Tanner, and relaxing while watching Judge Judy and her favorite reality TV shows.

In recent years, Lori treasured the simple moments spent surrounded by her family. Friday night sleepovers with her grandchildren became one of her favorite traditions, filling her home with laughter and memories that will be cherished forever. Being “Gramma” was one of the roles she loved most.

Lori was incredibly strong and resilient and proudly overcame cancer, not once, but twice, showing the same determination and strength that defined how she lived her life.

Lori is survived by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Hank Zimmerman; her children, Amanda Zimmerman, Kelly (Steven) Bainer, and Ryan (Nicole) Zimmerman; her grandchildren, Isabella, Anakin, Gabriella, Aerith, and Adalyn; siblings, Tami Collins (Robert) and Daniel Fitzmaurice (Lisa), as well as numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. Lori was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Judith (Powers) Fitzmaurice.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, with a Prayer Service at 6:15 p.m.
