Man Beat, Choked Woman, Stole Her Cash, Milford Police Say

The man accused in the violent assault had a full no-contact protective order with the victim, police said.

MILFORD, CT — A man is accused of beating and strangling a woman and forcing her to take drugs before stealing her cash, among other charges, according to police.

Police responded to a domestic violence complaint June 5 at 11:30. Police found the victim at a Milford address who had multiple injuries to her neck, face, and body.

The victim was treated at the scene by firefighters but declined further medical attention.

An investigation found that a Milford man had beaten the victim several times, according to police.

He took the victim's phone and did not allow her to leave. He also forced the victim to take drugs before stealing her cash and destroying some of her belongings, police said.

He also is accused of choking the victim and slamming her head against the wall, as well as threatening to kill her.

The man had a full no-contact protective order with the victim, according to police.

Police found him on Monroe Street where he was taken into custody.

He was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, two counts of violation of a protective order, first-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, criminal mischief, second-degree attempted burglary, fifth-degree larceny, and disorderly conduct.

He was held on $75,000 bond and taken to Milford Superior Court on June 6.
