Man Captured By K-9 Cop Faces Burglary Charges

The man captured by a K-9 cop after allegedly breaking into a recreational vehicle on Pond Point Avenue Friday has been charged with robbery, police said.

The man, identified as 22-year-old James Edwards of an uncertain address, allegedly broke into the RV at 115 Pond Point Ave., where he once lived, police said.

When cops arrived, Edwards allegedly crawled out of the roof hatch and fled into the marshy area around Gulf Pond -- , according to the Milford Police Department.

Edwards was not immediately charge. He was first taken to a local hospital for evaluation as he had a pre-existing medical condition, according to police.

Edwards was finally charged with third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny, interfering with police, and third-degree criminal mischief, according to police.

He was being held in lieu of $20,000 bond, police said.
