Man Catches, Then Releases Sea Turtle Off Milford Coast

The Long Island Sound continues to surprise as a sea turtle was recently caught off Milford.

The Connecticut Post reported that Daniel Verdejo posted a photo on the Connecticut Fish and Wildlife’s Facebook page of himself holding a sea turtle that he caught.

Accompanying the photo was a comment from Verdejo: “Caught a Sea Turtle while I was fishing in Milford CT, Took the hook out safely and released it back out to the ocean.” He added a winking smiley face emoji, as well.

Connecticut Fish and Wildlife commented that it was an interesting catch.

“First a whale now a sea turtle. Consider yourself lucky to have such a unique encounter and thanks for returning it safely,” Connecticut Fish and Wildlife wrote.

Connecticut Post said that last month a Milford resident saw a whale off the coast of the city.
