Man Charged In Smoke Shop Bust, Milford Police Say

Police investigated following complaints that businesses were selling THC products to minors.

MILFORD, CT — A man was charged and police seized about 54 lbs. of marijuana in a smoke shop bust.

Police had received numerous complaints regarding illegal activity at some local smoke shops, according to a statement.

Police and the state Department of Consumer Protection investigated the possible sale of THC products to minors as well as the making and selling other illegal products.

The two smoke shops that were investigated were Puffoo City at 1250 Boston Post Road and Puff Green Smoke at 284 Boston Post Road.

Police said they found and seized unregulated THC products, about 54 lbs. of marijuana, unregulated THC products, Kratom, and "a significant quantity of illegal items."

Ahmed Nasar Aliyahry, 20, of Bronx, New York, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a drug factory, possession of more than 5 oz. of marijuana, and possession with intent to sell more than 1 kg of marijuana.

He is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on May 12.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police said additional charges may be pending.
