Man Charged In Theft Of 26 Tons Of Aluminum, Milford Police Say

Police said warrants were issued for two suspects in the case.

MILFORD, CT — A man was arrested in connection with a large-scale theft of aluminum, Milford police said.

Olympic Steel Company reported to police in November that the business had been the victim of numerous burglaries. The company is located at 1 Eastern Steel Road in Milford.

An investigation followed and police recovered 26 tons of stolen aluminum.

Two suspects were identified and warrants were issued.

Ramon Penali-Villar, of Bridgeport, surrendered to police Tuesday. He was charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit burglary, and conspiracy to commit larceny, according to police.

He was held on $150,000 bond and taken to Milford Superior Court.

Police didn't name the second suspect in the case.
