Man Charged With Trying To Cash Fraudulent Check Worth $2K In Milford

MILFORD, CT — A man was charged on allegations that he attempted to cash a fraudulent check, according to Milford police.

Police began an investigation Nov. 13 after someone attempted to cash a fraudulent check for over $2,000 at Bank of America.

Police developed Christopher Lewis, 43, of Bridgeport, as a suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Bridgeport police took Lewis into custody Monday, and he was turned over to Milford police for the arrest warrant.

Lewis was charged with first-degree forgery and criminal attempt at third-degree larceny. He was held on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Tuesday.
