Man Phones in Milford Bomb Threat to Save a Friend's Job: Police
On Thursday, several Milford businesses were evacuated due to a bomb threat.

Milford police say a Bridgeport man is responsible for a bomb threat that resulted in the evacuation of several businesses in the city on Thursday.
On Thursday, the Milford Police Department received a 911 call from a business at 66 Erna Avenue in which a bomb threat was made. The caller stated “Bomb, First Floor” then hung up the phone, police said.
Milford police with the assistance of CT State Police Bomb Squad secured the building and checked for explosive devices, police said. The building was checked and no explosive devices were found, police said.

Further investigation led to a suspect being named, and after a short time contact was made with Wilfredo Garcia, 22, of 129 Black Rock Avenue, Bridgeport, police said.
Garcia admitted to officers that he made the bomb threat in an attempt to delay a female acquaintance from losing her job at the business, police said.

Garcia is being charged with falsely reporting an incident to police and breach of peace. Garcia was able to post a $5,000 bond and is due in Milford Superior Court on December 15, 2015.
