Man Robbed Bank, Told Teller He Had A Gun, Milford Police Say

MILFORD, CT — A man is being charged with robbing a bank in Milford and told employees he had a gun, according to police.

Police spotted a man "hastily leaving the bank wearing gloves and a mask" on Wednesday at 10:32 a.m.

A bank employee told police the man had passed a note to the teller that he had a gun and left with over $600 in cash.

An investigation led to the arrest of the man, who police found a short distance from the bank.

It's unclear whether the suspect actually had a gun.

The incident occurred at 205 Bridgeport Ave., which is the address of a Milford Bank branch.

Timothy Brelsford, 65, of Milford, was charged with first-degree robbery and fifth-degree larceny.

He was held on $500,000 bond. Brelsford was scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Thursday.
